Dr. Sean Stanga, MD
Dr. Sean Stanga is an allergist and immunologist in West Des Moines, board certified by both the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics, with more than fifteen years of clinical experience. He completed his allergy and immunology fellowship at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and his pediatrics residency at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines. He founded Allergenix in 2026.
One physician runs every appointment at Allergenix — the evaluation, the testing, the reading of it and the plan that follows. That is the whole design of the clinic, and it is why there is one name on this page.

The training behind the clinic
Dr. Stanga is board certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology and the American Board of Pediatrics, with over 15 years of clinical experience devoted to adults and children with allergic and immunologic conditions. He founded Allergenix to practice medicine the way he was trained to: listen first, test precisely, explain plainly.
Dr. Stanga earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Italian, from Villanova University in Philadelphia, followed by his medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten. He completed his pediatric residency at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, and advanced fellowship training in allergy and immunology at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
A decade in the making
For over a decade he cared for a large and medically underserved population in northern North Dakota, where limited access to specialists meant managing a wide spectrum of complex cases. He saw first hand how long wait times, rushed visits and insurance-driven constraints leave patients feeling unheard.
Now based in Iowa with his wife Kristy and their four children, Dr. Stanga joined the direct specialty care movement to put the patient-physician relationship back at the center. Together they created Allergenix, where patients are not a number, visits are never hurried, and every person is valued.

What that means for your appointment
He runs your appointment himself
The evaluation, the reading of the results and the written plan are all the same person. Skin testing is run and interpreted by Dr. Stanga on the same day. There is no handoff to a nurse line or a second visit to discuss what was found.
He treats children and adults
Food allergy in a five-year-old and chronic sinus symptoms in a sixty-year-old are the same clinic and the same physician. Results are explained to the child as well as to the parent.
He offers them here rather than by referral
Intralymphatic immunotherapy, food sublingual immunotherapy, venom immunotherapy and biologic therapy are all available here, under one physician.
