What was tested, and what wasn't

This site was built to be usable without a mouse, without images loading, and without relying on color alone. Rather than claim a conformance level, here is what was actually tested, and what was not.

WHAT WAS CHECKED

Six things, verified on the built site

Each of these was run against the site as it is published rather than assumed from the code, and the checks are scripts in the repository so they can be run again after any change.

Color contrast

Every text element on all 30 pages was measured at two screen widths against the WCAG AA thresholds — 4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text — with the color composited through any transparency behind it. 5,746 elements, no failures.

Keyboard only

A skip link is the first thing you reach with the Tab key on every page, so you are not tabbing through the whole menu to get to the page. The expanding questions are the browser's own disclosure element, so they open with Enter or Space without any custom scripting.

Reduced motion

If your system is set to reduce motion, the fade-in animations do not run, nothing is hidden waiting to be scrolled to, and the video on the home page does not play. Verified with the preference on: every element below the fold renders fully visible.

Screen readers

One first-level heading per page and no skipped heading levels anywhere, so the heading list is a usable table of contents. Every photograph carries a description of what is in it. The decorative line marks are hidden from assistive technology rather than read out as meaningless shapes.

Without images

The photographs are illustration, not information. No price, instruction or clinical fact on this site exists only inside an image, so nothing is lost if images fail to load or are not seen.

Text size

The page uses relative units and reflows rather than scrolling sideways, so browser zoom and larger default text sizes work normally.

WHAT WASN’T CHECKED

The limits of the above

A statement that lists only what passed is an advertisement. These are the gaps, so you can judge how much the rest is worth.

  • No testing has been done with people who use assistive technology daily. Automated checks and a developer with a keyboard are not a substitute for that, and they miss the problems that matter most.
  • There has been no formal third-party audit, so this page claims no WCAG conformance level.
  • Automated contrast checking cannot judge text sitting over a photograph, because the contrast depends on the pixels behind each letter. Those cases are tracked separately and reviewed by eye.
  • The embedded map is Google's, and its accessibility is theirs rather than ours. The full address and phone number are given as text next to it so nothing is only reachable through the map.
IF SOMETHING HERE DOESN’T WORK

Tell us and it gets fixed

If something on this site does not work for you, the fastest route is the phone — you will reach the clinic, not a queue. Tell us the page and what happened, and it will be fixed.
