What allergy testing costs

Allergy testing at Allergenix is priced as part of an evaluation, from $400 to $499 depending on what is being tested — one price covering the consultation, the testing indicated for it and a written plan, with nothing added afterwards.

Published in advance, the same for everyone, and not dependent on a plan. Testing is priced as part of an evaluation — one fee for the consultation, the testing and the plan you leave with.

WHAT A FIRST VISIT ADDS UP TO

The evaluation fee is the whole bill

  • $450 for a full environmental evaluation — the consultation (45–60 minutes), the aeroallergen panel and a written treatment plan
  • $425 for a food allergy evaluation, including testing to every indicated food and a written anaphylaxis action plan
  • $450 for asthma, which includes the allergy evaluation — an asthma patient does not need both
  • Spirometry, FeNO and bronchodilator testing add nothing, inside the asthma evaluation or wherever else they are indicated
WHAT ISN’T ADDED

No second bill afterwards

  • No facility fee on top of the visit
  • No separate professional fee, and no balance billing
  • No separate charge to have your results explained
  • No follow-up appointment required just to hear them
  • No difference in price for telehealth — blood testing stands in for skin testing, and the fee is the same
  • Outside laboratory work and imaging are billed by whoever provides them, at direct-pay rates the clinic negotiates

Bundled evaluations

Each of these is one price for the whole work-up: the consultation, the testing indicated for it, and the written plan you leave with. There is no separate charge for having the results explained, and nothing is added afterwards.

  • Full aeroallergen testing panel as indicated, by skin testing or lab evaluation
$425Food Allergy Evaluation45–60 minutes

Testing to any and all indicated foods, with the emergency planning that has to go with it. Priced as one fee however many foods are involved.

$499Antibiotic Allergy De-Labeling Program45–60 minutes

A penicillin or antibiotic allergy label that was never confirmed pushes you toward broader, more expensive antibiotics for the rest of your life. One visit removes it from the chart permanently. In person only.

  • Percutaneous and intradermal skin testing where the drug allows — penicillin G, minor determinant mixture, ampicillin, and all other applicable drugs, with positive and negative controls
  • All other antibiotic testing as indicated
  • Graded oral challenge where appropriate
  • Formal removal of the label from your chart

  • Written management plan

  • Component testing and baseline tryptase when indicated
  • Written anaphylaxis action plan and epinephrine training

Individual services

Priced separately, for anything that falls outside a bundled evaluation or an immunotherapy program.

$225New Patient Consultation45–60 minutes

For any matter other than the bundled evaluations above. Full medical history review, diagnostic guidance and individualised treatment planning — longer than a typical insurance-based visit, and fully physician-led.

$175 per visitFollow-up visit

For ongoing chronic conditions outside an immunotherapy program, in person, by telemedicine video or by phone. Follow-ups for patients already on an immunotherapy program are included in that program at no charge.

$225Environmental Allergy Skin Testing

Aeroallergen testing on its own, by skin testing or lab evaluation, when that is all that is requested. Where a consultation and a written plan are wanted too, the Environmental Allergy Evaluation covers all three for $450.

$399Supervised Oral Food Challenge4–5 hours

The gold standard for confirming or ruling out a food allergy: the food is given in measured, increasing amounts under one-to-one monitoring. A four to five hour appointment. This comes up often in the initial food allergy work-up, where a trigger is suspected but unconfirmed.

$499Delayed Hypersensitivity Patch TestingThree-day appointment

The work-up for allergic contact dermatitis, identifying chemical contact triggers behind chronic rashes and occupational dermatitis. Required for contact dermatitis patients needing chemical trigger evaluation, and not included in the eczema bundle.

No chargeSpirometry, FeNO and bronchodilator responsiveness

Lung function, airway inflammation and bronchodilator response, at no charge inside the Asthma Evaluation & Phenotyping bundle and whenever else they are clinically indicated.

Same as in-personTelehealth consultation or follow-up

Telehealth is not a cheaper tier or a more expensive one. Every evaluation bundle can be delivered entirely by telehealth, because specific IgE blood testing can stand in for skin testing.

$800 per year, flatBiologic Therapy Coordination

Clinical management and the prior authorization work required to get a biologic approved and keep it approved. The drug itself is dispensed on your prescription benefit and is not charged by Allergenix. One figure, loaded once, with no step increases.

Please inquireSpecialized Allergy Testing

Anesthetics, paralytics, chemotherapeutics, FPIES challenges and other pharmacologic testing require separate pricing consideration, depending on the availability of testing reagents and the comprehensive approach involved.

$99/monthAllergenix Membership Program (AMP)

Optional, with no contract and no cancellation fee. Unlimited follow-up appointments within a week — often same-day — and ongoing access to your allergist. If you cancel and rejoin later, a $300 re-enrollment fee applies.

  • The membership model does not apply to patients on active immunotherapy, as those programs already include their own scheduled follow-ups, monitoring and adjustments in the program fee.

Questions about testing cost

How much does allergy testing cost without insurance?

An Environmental Allergy Evaluation is $450 and a Food Allergy Evaluation is $425. Each is one price covering the consultation, the testing indicated for it and a written plan. That is the full price — there is no insurance markup and no facility fee on top.

Do I pay for the appointment as well as the testing?

No. The consultation, the testing indicated for it and the written plan are one fee — nothing is added afterwards for having your results explained, and there is no separate professional fee. Every evaluation and every individually priced service is listed in full on the pricing page.

What if I only want the testing, without a consultation?

Environmental allergy testing on its own is $225. It is worth knowing what that leaves out: the evaluation fee covers the physician time to interpret the results, a written treatment plan and a same-day report to your referring provider.

Is spirometry or FeNO extra?

No. Spirometry, exhaled nitric oxide and bronchodilator responsiveness are all at no charge inside the Asthma Evaluation, and whenever else they are clinically indicated.

Can this be done by telehealth?

Yes, and it costs the same. Every evaluation can be delivered entirely by telehealth, because specific IgE blood testing can stand in for skin testing. Only oral food challenges, patch testing, antibiotic de-labeling and the immunotherapy injections need you in the building.

How long do results take?

Skin testing is run in the clinic during your appointment and read the same day, with you, in the room. You leave with what was found and what it means in writing.

What if I need a food challenge?

A supervised oral food challenge is $399, priced separately from the evaluation. It is a four to five hour appointment under one-to-one monitoring, and it is the definitive way to confirm or rule out a food allergy.

What about a rash nobody can explain?

Delayed hypersensitivity patch testing is $499. It is a three-day appointment using extended allergen panels, aimed at chronic rashes and occupational dermatitis rather than immediate allergy, and it is not included in the eczema evaluation.

WHAT YOU GET FOR IT

Testing run in the clinic, read the same day, and a written plan before you leave — not a portal result and an appointment to discuss it.
